When I set out to create orthotics and shoes for my daughter Sophie, I never imagined it would grow into something this meaningful. Today, both of my shoe companies—Legacy Steps and SophWear—are officially under Faith Over CP, our nonprofit dedicated to fighting abuse, supporting families, and giving kids with disabilities a sense of normalcy.
The latest chapter of this mission is the JoeTop Kickoff. This shoe isn’t just footwear—it’s a promise. A promise I made to my best friend, Joe Long, who left us too soon. Joe was a small-town hero, a husband, a father, and a man whose words still echo in my heart: “Be Like Joe.”
So, I did what I knew how to do—I made Joe a shoe. The JoeTop is more than fabric and stitching. Every pair represents education, opportunity, and remembrance. Forty percent of the proceeds will be used to pay for college for Joe’s children, Wyatt and Olivia. The rest will fuel our mission to build molds, expand the InvisaSole® line, and keep creating adaptive shoes that give kids like Sophie the ability to walk, play, and thrive.
This is about legacy. It’s about honoring the forgotten heroes in our communities. And it’s about turning every step into hope for another family.
If you ain’t zippin’, you’re trippin’. If you’re clicking, you’re changing lives.
